Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing
Thank you for considering Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing as a place to begin your professional nursing career. Being a nursing student is both an academic challenge as well as an incredible honor. You will be invited to share some of the most intimate experiences of peoples' lives as you care for them as patients. These experiences will enrich your life in ways you cannot imagine. I invite you to be a part of a special place preparing you for a very special career in nursing.
Professional nursing is a helping profession that allows for application of practice in many different settings, such as hospital, home health, hospice, the classroom as nursing faculty, and public/community health agencies. There are an untold number of specialties within nursing.
At the College we offer our students nearly 1,000 clinical hours of hands-on experience providing care to patients. This ensures our students have the skills and confidence needed when they graduate.
Stimulating coursework, clinicals and labs will prepare you to succeed in today’s complex healthcare environment, rendering state-of-the-art care while honoring a patient’s cultural and spiritual perspective.
Our approach to nursing education involves a progressive series of carefully selected learning experiences planned and guided by the faculty. The curriculum is periodically revised and we enhance our technology resources to anticipate the ever-changing and demanding healthcare environment.
Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing offers two courses of study leading to the graduate’s eligibility to take the National Council of Licensure Examination – RN (NCLEX). Upon successful passage of the examination, the graduate is eligible to practice as a registered nurse. At the College, our graduates have historically scored very well on the exam. The last four quarters our students have achieved a 100% pass rate on their first attempt!
Proudly offered for nearly 50 years, our Diploma of Nursing program is not accepting new students. We invite incoming students to apply for our current program, the 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
The College of Nursing is accepting applications for its newest program, the RN to BSN program, which allows Registered Nurses to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
