RN to BSN
Welcome to our On-Line RN to BSN Program! Your education – for your career - at your convenience!
What is this program and how flexible is it?
The On-line RN to BSN program is designed for the working nurse who seeks to complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through a web-based approach. The program is offered entirely on-line with no class meetings required. Stimulating coursework includes research papers, case studies and discussion boards to engage you in your studies. By sharing your nursing experiences with other students, you will grow professionally and enhance your nursing practice.
Students have maximum flexibility with our program. Not only can you choose from a full-time option (completing it in 3 semesters) or a part-time option (completing it in 5 semesters), the classes are asynchronous, meaning you can “log on” and complete your work at your convenience. How does it work?
You first will complete a list of pre-requisite general education courses. Many of these were part of your Associates or Diploma program and would not need to be repeated (regardless of when you attended nursing school) unless you earned a grade lower than a “C.” Any remaining courses should be completed at an accredited college or university either in a traditional class or on-line setting. After this, you are ready to begin the RN – BSN On-Line Program through Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing. View the Sample RN to BSN Curriculum and Prerequisites.
What if I have been out of school for a long time?
Have no fear! Nurses are uniquely adept at new learning. The occupation itself continues to evolve and change, and as it becomes more research-oriented and data driven, you constantly have to incorporate new technology and adapt clinical protocols to offer your patients the highest quality care possible.
In addition, the first course in the RN to BSN degree program is “Orientation to On-Line Learning,” a class specifically designed to help you make the shift from traditional classroom instruction to web-based education. Do you have a busy life outside of work? Don’t worry. Most of us do. The Orientation class also helps with time management!
How do I apply and when are the deadlines?
Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing enrolls students twice a year. The fall semester deadline is 4/30. The spring semester deadline is 9/30.
- The minimum cumulative grade point average for admission is 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for the required general education course work and a grade of "C" or better in each of those required 56 hours of pre-requisite general education courses. Click here to view the complete list of pre-requisite general education courses required.
- You must possess an unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Note: an “unencumbered license” means neither the license, the licensee’s practice, nor the licensee is associated with any type of restriction, encumbrance, or probationary limitations imposed by the applicable Board of Nursing or any judicial entity.
When you are ready, you will apply at our web site by completing a very simple on-line application. Click here to apply.
What does it cost?
