THE TRADITIONAL BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (BSN)
The traditional BSN degree is for students seeking to become a Registered Nurse.
REQUIRED GPA
A minimum college GPA of 2.5 is required. The GPA will be calculated from all college courses taken, not only those that pertain to our program.
GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
General Psychology is no longer required. Applicants are still required to take a total of 46 college credits, but only 6 credits are now required from Cluster 1:
- Developmental Psychology (3 credits)
- Elective course (3 credits)
Statistics is no longer required as a prerequisite to our BSN program. However, applicants must complete a college-level math course. Statistics will fulfill this requirement or applicants can take another college-level math course to fulfill the requirement (e.g. Algebra, Pre-calculus, etc.)
Applicants who do not have a bachelor's degree or will not complete a bachelor's degree prior to entry, the following courses are required. The program consists of 52 general education credits. 46 of the 52 credits must be completed prior to entry. These required courses include:
No Prior Bachelor’s Degree:
- English I (3 credits)
- English II (3 credits)\
- Anatomy and Physiology I (3-4 credits)
- Anatomy and Physiology II (3-4 credits)
- Microbiology (3-4 credits)
- College-level Math (3 credits)
- Developmental Psychology (3 credits)
- Cluster One Elective (3 credits)
- Cluster Two Elective (3 credits)
- Cluster Four Elective (3 credits)
- Plus an additional 13-16 credits from any cluster
Aside from the specific courses listed above, applicants will need to take additional credit to equal 46 credits total. These credits can include courses already completed that fit into any cluster (Medical Terminology, History, Religion, Public Speaking, Literature, etc.).

ONLINE LEARNING

As a result of COVID-19, the Standardized Exam Requirement has been suspended for the fall 2022 application.

ADMISSIONS ESSAY
- As part of the online application, applicants will be asked to respond to two of three statements.
