REACH Student Assistance Program
The REACH Student Assistance Program is a confidential and professional counseling service. It is designed to help you resolve personal, job, and school related problems. You can use REACH anytime you have a personal or job problem. They are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Just call 1-855-691-4941. - Assistance with personal, school, and job related problems, including: depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, substance abuse, stress, parenting, eldercare, financial, marital and relationship difficulties Help with traumatic, stressful life events such as divorce, death of loved one, or abuse situations
- Individualized short-term counseling
- Referrals to community service for additional support, counseling and/or treatment
The College recommends, but does not require, that students carry private health insurance throughout enrollment in the program to cover needed health services that are beyond first aid. Students who do not choose to carry health insurance are solely responsible for all costs incurred related to his/her health while a student at the College of Nursing.
Professional Liability Insurance
Students are encouraged to carry professional liability insurance in order to go into clinical areas. The student pays an annual premium for the amount of coverage, which can be purchased through the National Student Nurses' Association.
While the College does not recommend any specific program, there are several online resources for housing in the Richmond area.
